even when you weren’t coming home.

We chase the spectacular.

We scroll past the stillness.

We write entire plots, forgetting the plot we're living.

But maybe — just maybe —

the real magic is in the coffee stain on your journal.

The playlist that skips the same song every time.

The pen that only writes when you’re not thinking.

The girl who always says “I’m fine,”

but changes her eyeliner when she’s not.

Maybe it’s in the old text message you still haven’t deleted.

The dream you forgot but your heart didn’t.

The friend you haven’t spoken to,

but still remember the way they laugh.

Maybe the magic isn’t in new lands or louder scenes.

Maybe it’s in the voice note that ends with "talk later."

But they didn’t.

Maybe stories were never made for the stage.

Maybe they were meant for the kitchen table.

For the slow walk home.

For the soft ache of things unsaid.

So the next time life feels too normal to write about —

Pause.

Look again.

Maybe the ordinary is what made you.

And maybe…

that was the story all along.
